Following a storm that uprooted several large trees across the KNUST campus this evening, the University management has taken prompt action to restore safety and normalcy.
The Rapid Response team of Grounds and Gardens of the Environmental Quality Unit has been diligently cutting and clearing the fallen trees, including the large African Tulip tree (Spathodea campanulata) that collapsed onto the carport near the Administration Block.
The damaged carport and solar panels are being assessed, with plans underway for repairs to ensure the continuation of the University’s green energy initiatives.
The swift clearance has reopened key access routes, including the main entry to the Administration Block, significantly improving mobility for staff, students, and visitors.
Students are being reminded about safety precautions during adverse weather and encouraged to report any hazards promptly.
